Affordable Golf Course Memberships in Minnesota

With more and more golfers playing the game, a membership at a golf course may be the way to go. Here’s our list of the more affordable memberships at Minnesota golf courses. While not all of the courses listed are private courses, they allow golfers with memberships a few more advantages than the general public.

I’d love to know what your thoughts are and if you have discovered other, more affordable memberships in Minnesota. Sometimes a drive outside the Twin Cities is worth it for a nice course, at a more reasonable price.

Mac Nine @ Rush Creek

This is a “pitch and putt” par 3 located on Rush Creek Golf Club’s property in Maple Grove. It’s longest hole is 120 yards, but is well maintained and walkable. Green fees are $15/round. A season pass for individual is $199/season. A junior pass is $125. A great buy for an aspiring junior golfer (and parent).

Mayflower Golf Club

Located in Fairfax, Minnesota, this 9-hole course just an hour and half southwest of the Twin Cities offers a regular sized,  par 36, 3,200 yard course. Memberships at Mayflower start at $484 for a single membership and $715 for couples (these are discounted rates / may not last for the 2026 season). Not too bad.

Minneopa Golf Club

Located off of 169, just south of Mankato (about an hour and a half drive from the Twin Cities), Minneopa Golf Club is a fun 9-hole course that opened for play in 1929. It has a newer clubhouse that sits off the 1st hole with views overlooking #9. It’s a cozy layout. Single memberships start at $700 / season. The owners also own nearby Terrace View.

Shamrock Golf Course

Located in Corcoran, a northwest suburb of Minneapolis, Shamrock is a country-style 18-hole golf course that is family-owned. It has a fun and forgiving layout that includes a smaller sized driving range, located near the clubhouse. The course is quite walkable and contained within a cozy tract of land near farmland and newer housing developments (to the southeast). Anytime single memberships start at $1,500 and $1,850 for couples (walking). For weekday singles, memberships start at $1,150 (2025 rates). An affordable price for a golf membership within the Twin Cities metro area.

Sandstone Area Golf Course
