Pheasant Acres Golf Club
Pheasant Acres Golf Club is an 18-hole public course in Rogers, on the northwest edge of the Twin Cities just off I-94. Lyle and Pat Johansen founded it in 1987, and Lyle laid out the course himself. It opened with just five sand traps and three ponds; today more than 30 bunkers and 16 ponds come into play, so it’s grown up a lot since. The course plays to par 71 and stretches to about 6,530 yards from the back tees, with five sets of tees down to about 4,100 yards, so it works for every level of golfer. It’s an easy walk, the greens run fast, and it has long been known as one of the better golf values around the metro. Pheasant Acres is a busy community course, with leagues for men, women, couples, juniors and seniors. The senior league alone has more than 300 members. There’s a driving range and lessons with a PGA pro, its junior program is one of the most active in the area, and online tee times make it easy to get out.
